V Hotel Lavender review

Zhuang Jia Wen

During my recent visit to Singapore, I spent a few nights at the V Hotel Lavender. This budget hotel is located in the lively Lavender district, close to both the MRT lines and bus terminals.

V Hotel Lavender is one of several V Hotel properties in Singapore. As a budget traveller, I was drawn by its affordable rates and central location. While it’s definitely a no-frills hotel, overall I had a positive experience staying there. Read on for a breakdown of the pros and cons.

  • Affordable pricing – For Singapore, it’s a great value hotel. Rooms are basic but comfortable.
  • Central location – Situated in Lavender near the MRT, V Hotel Lavender makes it easy to access different parts of Singapore. I walked to Arab Street, Kampong Glam, and Bugis from the hotel.
  • Helpful staff – The front desk clerks were polite and assisted me with storing luggage, booking tours, and ordering Grab rides. They provide good service.
  • Clean facilities – My room was modern, tidy and everything worked well like the AC, WiFi, and hot showers. The shared spaces like lobby were also kept clean.

  • Small, compact rooms – The rooms are very small and basic. Fine for solo travellers but could be tight for two people. Not much space to unpack suitcases.
  • Noise levels – Walls seem thin so I could hear hallway noises and adjacent rooms at times. Not a big issue but light sleepers should pack earplugs.
  • No on-site dining – There’s no restaurant in the hotel. You have to head out for meals. But there are many affordable food options close by.

For budget-conscious travellers who want an affordable but decent hotel in central Singapore, V Hotel Lavender hits the mark.

Don’t expect luxury amenities but the rooms are clean and comfortable. The location provides easy access around the city. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it for short visits to Singapore.
