Ibis Budget Hotel Bugis review

During my recent solo trip to Singapore, I stayed at the Ibis Budget Hotel Bugis, located right near the Bugis MRT station. Here’s an overview of my experience at this affordable accommodation.

As a budget-conscious traveler, Ibis Budget appealed to me with its low rates starting around £45 per night for a central location in Singapore. While I expected basic, no-frills rooms, the convenience factor seemed ideal.

  • Affordable Pricing: For Singapore standards, rates are very budget-friendly. Rooms are basic but comfortable.
  • Convenient Access: Situated literally above the Bugis MRT and next to Bugis Junction mall makes getting around the city incredibly convenient.
  • Clean and Tidy: The compact rooms are simple but properly maintained with daily housekeeping. Bed linens and floors were clean during my stay.
  • Modern Vibe: The lobby and rooms have been recently renovated. Everything felt shiny and new.

  • Very Small Rooms: The rooms are tiny with just the basics – bed, TV, desk, and bathroom. I’d recommend only 1 person per room.
  • Sparse Amenities: No real facilities beyond the rooms and a basic breakfast. But you have Bugis Junction downstairs for dining.
  • Noisy: Located right by the busy Bugis intersection and above the MRT means significant street noise. Light sleepers should have ear plugs.

For budget-focused travelers who prioritize price and convenience in their Singapore stay, Ibis Budget Hotel Bugis is a good option.

While the compact rooms are ultra basic, rates are affordable and the location can’t be beat. Overall a decent value pick in an expensive destination.
